Partners in Life and Design.
While working on a project over three decades ago, Stephen and Gail Huberman have worked in tandem, designing together for 35 years. Based out of Westchester Co. New York, their work spans all aspects of design from individual spaces to full-home design projects. Layering in style and architectural flair, their collaboration lends focus to every job, allowing each project to have an individual and distinct identity, following their client’s needs and wishes.
Working together has brought about a collaboration that mixes textures, styles and materials from all design periods that combine into a chic, modern 21st century aesthetic. Mixing classical elements with contemporary designs allows a warmth across all projects, making each design unique and well suited for living and beauty.
With a background in Interior Design and experience in theatre and stage design, Stephen Huberman is a graduate of the New York School of Interior Design in New York City. A graduate of Adelphi University, Gail’s extensive background in the art field allows for finishing the design in a way that best represents the goals of their team and their clients.
Not simply a design team that recommends paint colors, SGH Designs manages a myriad of services to unify the overall vision for the design. This includes coordinating all project details, from conception to finish, from renovations, construction, styles and final touches.
Projects as wide-ranging as single-room design to the design and execution of the main spaces of Oheka Castle, Stephen and Gail have collaborated together on fifteen showhouses, including Kips Bay, NY and Southampton, NY. Their clients include top hedge fund and financial professionals, many of whom worked with SGH Designs on multiple projects, as well as other luminaries of their fields. While a focus is placed on homes and interiors, Stephen and Gail have also worked on retail stores, showrooms and office spaces.
SGH Designs has been featured in such publications as House Beautiful, Architectural Digest (Brazil), Design Times, The New York Times, Westchester Cottages & Gardens and Westchester Home amongst others industry magazines and books.
Their passion and desire to create enduring, livable spaces is a testament to Stephen and Gail’s working and personal relationship, and their longevity as a team is reflected in the timelessness of their design.
